In this episode of Save File Corrupted?! we discuss the announcement that competitive gaming has been recognized as a pro sport in the U.S. And all this time your parents said they would just rot your brain. We also talk about the potential “balance” for Ultimate Marvel VS Capcom 3, our personal favorite of the Soul Calibur series, Soul calibur 2 being re-released this fall, more Borderlands 2 DLC as well as Borderlands 2 devs addressing the lack of personality in their playable characters, and lastly Eidos Montreal founder resigning.

Save File Corrupted?!: Episode 21 – EVO 2K13

EVO 2K13 was well into the Street Fighter IV AE grand finals while we were recording this episode of Save File Corrupted?! So as you can imagine, there was plenty of EVO talk to be had. We reacted to Justin Wong’s narrow loss to Flocker in the Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 championship match (19:40), the announcement of Ultra Street Fighter IV (02:59), Noel “Chris” Brown’s untimely imprisonment (26:01) and Nintendo pulling and then reinstating EVO’s permission to stream Super Smash Bros. (39:21). We also talk about Steam teaming up with Twitchtv (36:50),Persona 4 Arena (45:16), Last of Us (1:17:15) and Hideo Kojima feeling “depressed” over GTA V (1:03:09).

In this episode of Save File Corrupted?! we enjoy an open letter credited to Don Mattrick, Microsoft‘s now former President of Interactive Entertainment Business, who gives his heartfelt thoughts on fan reaction to the Xbox ONE. We touch on what’s going on in the fighting game community, including the latest happenings in the CEO tournament. We report on a couple amusing stories including Saints Row 4 being banned in Australia due to its “alien anal probe” weapon and Naughty Dog living up to its namesake and “accidentally” including phone sex numbers in Last of Us.

Save File Corrupted?!: Episode 19 – E3 Recap

This episode of Save File Corrupted?! is essentially a 2-hour news dump following E3. We discuss public enemy number one, Microsoft’s Xbox ONE as well as the console people actually want, Sony’s PlayStation 4. We discuss a plethora of upcoming games, everything from Rainbow 6, Battlefield 4, and Metal Gear Solid V to Marvel vs Capcom 4, Final Fantasy XV,  Zelda and the Witcher 3. Just to name a few. We also talk a bit about new ‘Free-to-Play’ games, Cloud computing and the end of online passes for EA.
