It goes without saying that I’ve been less than kind to X-Men: Days of Future Past. I’ve mocked Storm‘s costume, laughed at the PEZ dispensers looking Sentinels, and even criticized Bryan Singer’s return to the franchise in general. And while I still standby my criticisms, X-Men: Days of Future Past looks as though it has the potential to be more than the sum of its parts. But don’t take my word for it…
I’m pleased with the dark tone of X-Men: Days of Future Past and the snippets of the storyline certainly has captured my interest. Despite how the trailer has tempered my expectations, I still feel perturbed by the Wolverine-centric plot. I appreciate the need to take liberties on the Days of Future Past storyline but I feel that they’re missing an opportunity by pushing Kitty Pryde to the background. Don’t get me wrong, I like Wolverine as much as the last guy but I’d like to see Brian Singer direct an X-Men movie and have the courage to let another X-Men have the spotlight.
But wait, there’s more!
