Ok so yes, March is just about over with, but don’t let that fact mean this month’s MTS can’t still be a helpful guide! Maybe you didn’t make it to the comic shop yet or you’re not sure what to get (I know that’s a bit of a stretch, but humor me). DC gets ready to converge their multiverse as Marvel begins new series that are definitely worth your dollar. These are must haves for your collection and incredible indie books that will take you for an unforgettable ride. What’s looking good this month? Take a look…

Where do worlds go when they die?
The Earthquakes felt round the Multiverse, Superman’s lost days after “Doomed,” the World’s End – all these points will converge as the history of the DCU is spun from a new perspective, the perspective of a mad god and his arrogant child. The biggest story in DC history ties into literally every DC story ever told – and it all begins here.
Kingdom Come, Red Son, Wild West Justice League, Captain Carrot and the Zoo Crew – all the worlds you remember can still be found on Telos. Everything matters. Every story matters.
Don’t miss the start of DC’s April/May 2015 event with this special issue!
Company: DC Comics
My Thoughts: It’s [almost] time once again for DC to play around with their Multiverse because… well, what else do they have to do? Even this event for DC is at the most general plot point the same as Marvel’s (or close enough), the big difference is that for DC it’s all temporary. Once June rolls around, it’s basically back to business. However, that doesn’t mean the story can’t still be enjoyed.
THE FLASH #40
Written by ROBERT VENDITTI and VAN JENSEN
Art and cover by BRETT BOOTH and NORM RAPMUND
Barry Allen finds a way to escape the Speed Force – but can the Fastest Man Alive return home and stop Future Flash’s murderous plans?
Company: DC Comics
My Thoughts: This current arc with the future Flash/Barry really feels like it’s dragged on. It’s been a good arc, but the feeling of it going on and on is ever so present. This seems like it’ll finally come to an end and when the title returns in June, it’ll be dealing with Reverse Flash, the Eobard Thawne kind. Can’t wait to see how they wrap up present-day Flash/Barry getting out of the Speed Force and kicking his own rear-end back to where it belongs.
BATMAN ETERNAL #52
Written by SCOTT SNYDER, JAMES TYNION IV, RAY FAWKES, KYLE HIGGINS and TIM SEELEY
Art by PAULO SIQUEIRA and others
Cover by JASON FABOK
This month in BATMAN ETERNAL: The epic Bat-story over a year in the making comes to a stunning end! Gotham City is in flames! Villains are running wild in the streets! Bat-tech has been corrupted! And the mastermind behind it all has put a knife in Batman’s ribs! How will the Dark Knight put an end to this nightmare…and how will it shape the face of Gotham City to come?
Company: DC Comics
My Thoughts: A year-long event comes to its conclusion. After finally knowing who has been behind everything, how everything was planned, the end of this epic story gets its fin. The question is though: How will Gotham pull through, what happens to the Bat-Family, and will Alfred’s daughter stick around? It’s been confirmed a “second season” for this series will begin sometime near the end of 2015. By San Diego Comic-Con we should be hearing/getting some info on what that will entail.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The IDW Collection, Vol. 1
Tom Waltz, Kevin Eastman, Brian Lynch, Eirk Burnham (w) • Dan Duncan, Mateus Santolouco, Franco Urru, Andy Kuhn, Valerio Schiti, Ross Campbell, Charles Paul Wilson III (a) • Dan Duncan (c)
IDW’s re-launch of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles has been a hit with fans and critics alike. Now, collect the series in all-new oversized hardcovers that present the stories in recommended reading order. Collects the first 12 issues of the new ongoing series plus the Raphael, Michelangelo, Donatello, Leonardo, and Splinter Micro-Series one-shots spliced in between.
My Thoughts: Heroes in a half-shell! Turtle Power! The TMNT is one of the greatest creations from the 80s and their comic-life has always been a power-house. The current series being published is definitely one everyone should be reading if you love the lovable turtles. Especially this month’s issue will get you right in the feels.

In pursuit of revenge, Abram Pollux finds something that will change everything we know about the world of Ouro.
My Thoughts: The best way to explain this book is to think of a western in an alien world, though filled with humans more than anything. It’s much more than that and the art is something to definitely awe at. Someone who thinks he recently crashed in an almost ghost town, even though the ship he came in had been crashed for over a year, he tries to puzzle everything together while helping out however he can. And of course, he’s making lots of “friends”. If you haven’t read the book, give the first few issues a try. I very much recommend it.

“THE CHILDREN’S CRUSADE”
There is a place that offers sanctuary from the Spread. The only problem? No and company need to escort a group of children through the Spread to get there.
My Thoughts: Alright, so this is another of those books that deal with a virus or what-have-you that’s… spread around (lulz, get it?!) and created a post apocalyptic world people live in with danger literally all around you. But here’s the hook: there’s an actual cure and someone has it. Well… not “it” but the person. A baby. And it’s not the baby’s blood, nope. Hook number two: It’s the baby’s tears. Yes, the tears are the cure. Damn, if you don’t like babies crying, you’re doubly-f#&$%d.
ALL-NEW HAWKEYE #1
JEFF LEMIRE (W) • RAMON PEREZ (A/C)
THE AVENGING ARCHERS ARE BACK!
• Hawkeye returns in an all-new series featuring superstar writer Jeff Lemire in his Marvel debut and Eisner Award-winning artist Ramon Perez, as they bring you a fresh new look into the life of everyone’s favorite Avenger. With Kate Bishop, his trusted ward and protégé back at his side (not titles she would use), Team Hawkeye is thrown into an all new adventure spanning two generations of avenging archers. Past and present lives collide as Kate and Clint face a threat that will challenge everything they know about what it means to be Hawkeye.
• But no one puts Hawkeye in a corner.
My Thoughts: Even though the Fraction/Aja last issue of the previous volume is yet to see its release (which originally should’ve been last Summer), the new volume has started. It’s out now with a high recommendation. Lemire and Perez put their own spin on Hawkeye and Hawkeye’s adventures (and I suppose it does spoil the last volume’s issue a bit) while still giving it their own flavor. Past scenes are done differently than current to give those parts a different distinction and it works well. The book is (so far) not being interrupted by Secret Wars, but who knows how long that will last. Besides Marvel, that is.
HOWARD THE DUCK #1
CHIP ZDARSKY (w) • JOE QUINONES (A/C)
• HOT off the pages of the … the post-credits scene at the … the end of a … popular movie … HOWARD THE DUCK is back! Join him as he takes on the weird cases that only a talking duck can crack as the Marvel Universe’s resident private investigator!
• Let Sex Criminals’ CHIP ZDARSKY (a writer known mostly as an artist) and JOE QUINONES (an artist known mostly as a lover) guide you through his new world as he takes on THE BLACK CAT and MYSTERIOUS FORCES FROM OUTER SPACE!
My Thoughts: Finally a Howard the Duck something I like! I will always… ALWAYS maintain that the 80’s movie is the absolute worst movie of all time. Surprisingly it didn’t put me off the character. However, this book, out right now, should really be checked out by everyone. Great humor, great art and coloring, and a great somewhat-but-not-really team-up with Spider-Man. I love. I want more. Read it and you will too.
AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #16.1
GERRY CONWAY (W) • CARLO BARBERI (A)
Cover by ARTHUR ADAMS
SPIRAL begins here!
• The underworld is in a constant flux and has been since the Kingpin got taken out at SHADOWLAND. That war is heating up and Spidey’s going to do something about it.
• But he’s not the only one– Police Captain Yuri Watanabe is trying to curtail the madness both in her day job as a police office and as the vigilante THE WRAITH!
• Do she and Spidey play by the same rules?
My Thoughts: The great and classic Spider-Man writer Gerry Conway is back! It’s weird that the issues he’s writing his Spider-Man tale are labeled .1’s (going from 16.1 to I believe 20.1?) instead of just making it a mini-series titled “Spider-Man: Spiral”, but I digress. Either way, you can check out this issue out now in comic shops and online and see how Conway writes Spider-Man in modern times.
ALL-NEW CAPTAIN AMERICA #5
RICK REMENDER (W) • STUART IMMONEN (A/C)
• The countdown to great leveling begins.
• Planet Hydra Is all but assured.
• Captain America is our last hope.
My Thoughts: Sam Wilson hasn’t been the “all-new” Captain America that long and he’s already been put through the ringer. Since #1 of this title it’s been a roller-coaster ride for the former codenamed Falcon, but he’s shown that he’s up to the task of what it is to be Captain America and what it means. It’s no surprise that Baron Zemo is who he first goes up against in his new persona either.
