The Comic Bubble: Top 5 Comic Books of 2012

This week I am focusing on what I found to be the Top 5 books of 2012. Without further waiting, here is what I think were the top tier, the best reads from last year:     5. Batman (DC Comics) Written by: Scott Snyder, backups by Scott Snyder & James Tynion IV Penciled by: Greg Capullo, backups by Various Artists When DC launched Batman with Snyder & Capullo at the helm for the New 52 initiative, the team was on fire from the very beginning. From the epic Court of Owls story line to the current Death of the Family, it’s been a crazy, thrilling roller-coaster ride and the fun doesn’t look to be stopping anytime soon. Adding paranoia to the bat-lore with wondering how the Court of Owls have been living and functioning in Gotham without Batman’s knowledge is not only bold, but magnificent. It’s a whole new level of impressiveness with how Snyder is showing that Gotham may not be what Batman once thought it was like.   With #10, backups began to run with the book co-written by Scott Snyder & up-and-coming writer James Tynion IV. It’s been a great pleasure reading them, enjoying, and looking…

Let’s Take A Look At… Crysis 3

Crytek have returned with their third installment to the Crisis series. Crysis 3 is set to be the direct sequel to the 2011 Crysis 2 game. The third installment sees the player reprise the role of Prophet as he returns to New York City, only to discover that the city has been encased in a giant Nanodome created by the corrupt CELL Corporation. The New York City Liberty Dome is veritable urban rain forest teeming with overgrown trees, raging rivers and dense swamps. Set in 2047 (24 years after the events of Crysis 2) Prophet is said (by Crytek developers) to be on a revenge mission after uncovering the truth of CELL’s motives for constructing the Nanodomes. The citizens were told that the giant citywide structures were erected to protect the population and cleanse these metropolises of the remnants of Ceph forces. However in reality, the Nanondomes are CELL’s covert attempt at a land and technology grab in an attempt to achieve global domination.

Let’s Take A Look At… Dead Space 3

So for my debut article on Punching The Walls of Reality I thought I would provide a detailed look at one of the most anticipated games to be released in the first quarter of 2013, Dead Space 3.  I have always been a sucker for survival horror games, I love playing them but at the same time this genre acts as my kryptonite, bringing out the worst in me and so on. When I heard that there would be a Dead Space 3, well I was already jumping for joy. The series has definitely become a fan’s favorite in the horror category of gaming. Playing Dead Space 1 gave me endless nightmares, and then they progressively got worse when I played through the second game. It is a franchise that delivers what it promises, a thrill ride of horror, gore and a solid story, which is very hard to find nowadays with horror based games.

New footage from Season 3 of The Walking Dead!

Reunited and it feels so good   The fine folks at AMC just released new footage from the season premiere for the second half of season 3 of The Walking Dead. It picks up right where the half season finale ended, with Daryl and Merle Dixon sharing what would have been a heartfelt reunion were The Governor not blinded with rage (and a shard of glass courtesy of Michonne). Sadly, The Walking Dead doesn’t return until Sunday, Feb 10th. If it’s any consolation, absence makes the heart grow fonder.     – Prometheus You May Also Like: Walking Dead Mid-Season 3 Finale: Made to Suffer – Recap Ten Most Anticipated Movies of 2013 10 Greatest Videogame Commercials aka We Can’€™t Count Straight Outta Austin! : Episode 43 – Erika Pipe’s Out

Ten Most Anticipated Movies of 2013

10) Gangsta Squad Emma Stone cosplaying as Jessica Rabbit? Count me in. Gangsta Squad may actually succeed where movies like Public Enemies have failed. At the very least we should get some bad ass actions scenes out of it.
