If you’re tired of reading comic books with the same recycled plots lathered with overexposed characters, then you’ve come to the right place! Every week we’ll be spotlighting a different comic book, focusing primarily on independent creators. Whether they be indie creators who have cut their teeth working with the Big Two, and now have a creator owned property, or they’re just breaking into the industry and making a name for themselves, I’ll be bringing them to your attention! This week we’ll be spotlighting, the Sci-Fi/Western epic, Evercross! Evercross, created by Bobic Alva and Kevin Johnson, is an intriguing tango of violence with a compelling premise and fun characters. Evercross was made possible with the help of a successful Kickstarter campaign, and I for one am very glad to have gotten a copy!

Justin Piatt, along with co-creator and artist Zack Dolan, have created something truly extraordinary with their comic book, Super! They’ve managed to make the Superhero genre feel fresh again through both parody and homage to the super heroes we all grew up with. We were very fortunate to be able to pry Justin anyway from his tireless work on Super! to pick his brain about how Super! all came about and where it’s going.
Super! is already two issues deep, with issue 3 releasing later this month, but Unlikely Heroes Studios wants to do more and they need your help! They’ve launched a Kickstarter this month so that they can continue to publish the comic that we’ve grown to love while rewarding supporters with some awesome goodies for their contribution! Backers can receive anything from action figures, signed trade paperbacks, mini posters, a Blood Death hoodie, original artwork and even a chance to appear in Super!
Straight Outta Austin! is here to sweeten your ear drums! “I’m ready to make a better one now. I miss playing it too. If there is enough interest, I’ll do a Kickstart on it.” – Dan Geisler Way back in 2011, I wrote about 5 games which I would love to see resurrected and Road Rash was at the very top of my list. I absolutely loved that game growing up so even the prospect of it coming back fills me with sinister glee. While fielding questions on Reddit as to why Road Rash has yet to resurface, Road Rash creator Dan Geisler announced that if there was enough interest he would bring the series back, with a little help from crowd funding. In other words, if you want Road Rash back so bad, you gotta pay for it. And then pay for it again.
