Dan Harmon was fired as the showrunner for Community following Season 3, leaving the series in the hands of David Guarascio and Moses Port. However, according to HitFix’s Alan Sepinwall “several of the castmembers weren’t happy with the season 4 scripts and pushed Sony for Harmon’s return.” I’m sure that the generally poor response to season 4 didn’t hurt their decision to bring him back either.
