Last weekend Chicago had the annual C2E2 convention and not many things were revealed, in terms of “big news” by most companies there. It was your standard “this is what’s going on,” but nothing really “OMG YOU GUYS” level. Discussions on what’s already shown in past solicitations and reveals. For example, the ‘biggest’ news DC really dropped was that Joker will be returning as Snyder has a part 2 to what he has planned with him, though it will be some time before that story comes along.
The X-men finally get their shit together, having defeated their Revenants (literally their inner demons) along with their long and drawn-out pasts, and now coherently assembled with Bishop, a large Revenant bear and Spiral, the nostalgic X-Men villain. Previously, the Revenant Queen revealed herself with some surprise, as
It goes without saying that I’ve been less than kind to X-Men: Days of Future Past. I’ve mocked Storm‘s costume, laughed at the PEZ dispensers looking Sentinels, and even criticized Bryan Singer’s return to the franchise in general. And while I still standby my criticisms, X-Men: Days of Future Past looks as though it has the potential to be more than the sum of its parts. But don’t take my word for it…
Like everyone else, I’m all for the female exclusive team in this new incarnation of X-Men. And before I get into that, I just want to pronounce my disdain for John Sublime. First created by Grant Morrison, he was used as somewhat of a scapegoat for the human race’s hate towards mutants, primarily because he’s an ancient strain of bacteria who can infect humans and possess them.
The much anticipated X-Men #1 featuring the first ever all female line up is slated to be released later this month! Writer Brian Wood and artist Oliver Coipel are the creative team behind this adjective-less X-Men title. Lead by Storm, Rogue, Jubilee, Kitty Pryde, Rachel Grey, Rogue & Psylocke make up the team.
Halle Berry is a miserable choice for Storm. I don’t care how pretty you think she is, she’s proven it three times already. It took me quite sometime to shake off the shock of this image. In truth, I don’t know why I was shocked at all. It’s only fitting that her costume would be equally as terrible as her performances. Still, I’m trying to hold onto hope for X-Men: Days of Future Past, but the more news that’s released on this movie, the less I’m able to convince myself that it won’t be a complete train wreck. *sigh* And I had such high hopes for this movie too.
That’s right folks, we’ve reached another milestone! We’re proud to present to you episode 60 of Straight Outta Austin! In this episode we break from our mandate to keep video games strictly on the Save File Corrupted?! podcast and talk about Injustice: Gods Among Us. We also discuss a gamut of comic book movies; Iron Man 3, Man of Steel and X-Men: Days of Future Past, specifically Halle Berry’s awful Storm costume. We end by talking about the greatness of 3rd Rock from the Sun!
