World Champion Boxer Holly Holm leaves boxing to focus on MMA

32-2-3 boxing record

Widely regarded as the number one ranked boxer in world, Holly Holm has decided to hang up the 8 ounce gloves and step back into the cage. Holm, an 18-time world champion in three separate divisions, will be leaving boxing following her fight against Mary McGee to concentrate on Mixed Martial Arts full time. Holm explained that her “passion’s just going to MMA”. Her transition couldn’t come at a better time as the sport of Mixed Martial Arts is finally starting to embrace female fighters.

Holm currently boasts an undefeated record in MMA at 3 – 0 with her most recent victory being a TKO over Katie Merrill, in Bellator. She’s likely to continue fighting under the Bellator promotion as a bantamweight (135lbs).
